Free Movies 1978

Free Movies 1978, A self-generating sound and film installation using five Super8 projectors and five reel-to-reel tape recorders. The machines play ten continuous loops: five loops of found film and five loops of found audio recordings, a microphone added room sounds cmbined with the clicks and scrapes of the tape and film loops via a tape delay system that intermingled, out of sequence, with the live source sounds. On a near-by wall the film projectors create five postcard-sized rectangles of light showing scratched and clear film with occasional blocks of colour in repetition.
