Empty Room 1983,
Room without windows, empty; electrical trip and contact switches; slide projector; cassette loop, cassette player, one access and exit door.

Instructions (Sign on door): please enter one at a time, please sit on stool.
Upon entering the door slowly closes behind the viewer/participant (this takes approximately 10 seconds).
The room is lit by a slide projector without a lens. At low volume the sound of distant hammering and running water can be heard.
A stool is visible against a wall opposite to the entry point, a sign above the stool reads: “leave”.
If the viewer follows the (Sign on door) instructions to sit on the stool; the room falls silent and dark.
